While many classic toys are now mass-produced using cheaper materials (primarily plastic), this Tonka truck's quality construction is preserved. Although the wheels and frame of this dump truck are made of plastic, it is of a heavy, durable weight and suitable for the muddy or wet territories that this truck is sure to encounter. The dump bed, however, is made of heavy-duty steel--just the way parents will remember this toy. This massive truck measures 18 inches long and is a hulking 11-1/4 inches tall with an enormous dump bed that can haul and dump overwhelming piles of dirt, cedar chips, or toys. A plastic handle on the front of the dump bed provides a sturdy grip for tilting the bed to drop a heavy load and ease the bed back to a horizontal position again. This was given to my son for his first birthday. In the beginning, he loved to sit in the bed of the truck and to be pulled around. He is now 18 months old and this is by far, without a doubt, our most played with toy. He pushes it all over the yard, filling it with flowers and sticks- whatever he can find. He is rough little boy and this truck can keep up with him. We have had zero problems and I am sure it will be played with for years to come.

We bought this dumptruck for my son's 1st birthday a year ago. He's now 2, and still fits in it. He absolutely adores it and it really is TOUGH AS NAILS. They rarely make stuff this good anymore thats why I jumped at the chance to buy one this awesomely sturdy. My brother and I had a whole yard full of Metal Tonka vehicles and I was thrilled to be able to buy my son one as equally durable as the ones we had growing up. I highly recommend this truck!

This is a great toy that will grow with our grandson who is now four years old. He grabs hold of each side and runs around the house pushing it in front of him. Sometimes he uses it for transport, but at other times he just runs with it.
